I was lucky. I always wanted to be a writer. Between having three countries as an audience and having won a few awards here and there, and actually never being very famous but never totally obscure either, I've had one of the happier writing lives I know. -- Brian Moore

1921-1999 Born in Belfast, Moore emigrated to Canada in 1948, living in Montreal until 1959. Eventually, he settled in California but he retained his Canadian citizenship. His works include The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, Black Robe, and The Luck of Ginger Coffey.
