Formed by fiddler Luderin Darbone and Cajun accordianist Edwin Duhon, in 1933, the band plays a blend of traditional Cajun and Western swing, with songs in both English and French.
They received a Grammy nomination for "Deep Water" in 1997 and two years later made their debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry. In 2002, they performed in Holland and France and Darbone and Dubon received National Heritage Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The year 2003 marks the 70th anniversary of the band.
