Canada's third Governor General, Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 1st Earl of Dufferin, 1st Marquess of Dufferin and Ava (born 21 June, 1826, Florence, Italy; died 12 February, 1902) served from 1872 to 1878.
