The Near South Side is a community located just south of Chicago's downtown central business district, the Loop. The sub-neighborhoods of Central Station, Dearborn Park, Museum Campus, and Prairie Avenue Historic District are located in Near South Side. The Electronic Encyclopedia of Chicago cites Printer's Row and the South Loop as part of the Near South Side community. The official map of the City of Chicago supports the belief that Printer's Row and the South Loop are located in the Loop community.
