Disability firms most commonly help people with Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, Americans with Disabilities Act, and long term disability claims. Firms who handle disabling injuries on the job are listed under Workers' Compensation, and firms who handle discrimination against the handicapped by the educational establishment are listed under Education Law. Social Security disability benefits may be paid by the social security administration to anyone who has worked enough and who can prove disability. The Administration also pays Supplemental Security Income benefits to disabled people who can show that they have limited income and resources. Long term disability insurance policies are a common benefit provided by employers; some people own private policies. The Americans with Disabilities Act, commonly known as the ADA, is designed to discourage employers and others in society from unjustified discrimination against the handicapped.
