Orphaned at a young age, Frodo was adopted by Bilbo Baggins. He later inherited a ring of power that belonged to the Dark Lord Sauron. Frodo and his companions embark on a quest to destroy the one Ring. He is later separated from his companions. Frodo with the help of Samwise Gamgee manage to bring the Ring to the mountain. After the war of the Ring, Frodo returns to the Shire with the other three hobbits. Unable to heal from his experiences, Frodo accompanies Bilbo, Gandalf, Galadriel, and Elrond to the Grey Havens where he is allowed to 'pass over the sea' to seek peace and understanding. Frodo leaves behind the Redbook of Westmarch that contains the story of the hobbits role in the War of the Ring.
