Rivers is a long time radio DJ. He had his first hit singing "Breaking Up Is Hard on You (Don't Take Ma Bell Away from Me)" to Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do".

His portfolio include several irreverent Christmas albums and Weird Al style parody albums:

He continues to work as a DJ on Twisted Tunes and Twisted Radio.
