Christiane Amanpour became an international correspondent for CNN in 1990 and is currently the network's chief international correspondent. She has been received numerous journalism awards, including nine News and Documentary Emmys, four George Foster Peabody Awards, an Edward R. Murrow award, and the Courage in Journalism Award. She was made a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. She is on the board of directors of the Committee to Protect Journalists.
