The hobby of Civil War Living History is a very diverse makeup of participants. One of the "wings" of the hobby is dedicated to getting as accurate a portrayal of soldiers of the war as possible. Because of the difference of commitment of authenticity between this wing of the hobby and the more "mainstream" wing, the websurfer/potential recruit, an potential recruit/web surfer should be made aware of the distinction. This category is for the Progressive units of the hobby. The reason that these units are not listed in state form is that often these units are more "regional" than locally based.
