Directory of Woolsery Resources

Home > Regional > Europe > United Kingdom > England > Devon > Woolsery

This category is for websites for the north coast parish of Woolfardisworthy administered by  Torridge District Council,
sometimes referred to as Woolfardisworthy West, so as not to be confused with the village of Woolfardisworthy
north of Crediton and south of  Witheridge.
The central village is also officially named Woolfardisworthy, but is pronounced "Woolsery", and this spelling
has come into more common use, hence the name for this category.
Although most of the parish is inland, it has a 2-mile coastline in Clovelly Bay, characterised by a rocky tidal peninsula,
The Gore.  The hamlet of Buck's Cross, leads to Buck's Mills, but because of limited access to the beach, as a
holiday attraction, it has become dominated by the village to the west,  Clovelly, and the larger
coastal resort to the north west at  Westward Ho!.
This category includes websites for Cranford, the hamlet north of the village of Woolfardisworthy and south of
Buck's Cross, as well as those off the A39 between Clovelly, and the boundary with the parish of  Parkham to the east.
The parish extends south to the River Torridge at Ashmansworthy, and until there is a more suitable category,
websites as far south west towards Meddon may be listed here, but those for areas further west should be
included in the  Hartland category, whereas those further south should be listed in  Bradworthy.
Websites for Melbury and areas further east should be listed in the Parkham category.
