Downtown Hartford is a regional center for jobs in insurance, banking, and other fields. In addition, it contains several historic sites and cultural attractions, such as Bushnell Park, the Wadsworth Atheneum and The Old State House. It also provides a venue for annual festivals, such as First Night on New Years Eve, Mark Twain Days, the New England Fiddle Contest, the Taste of Hartford and fishing tournaments on the Connecticut River.
