Killingly [Windham County] Connecticut was settled in 1700 and incorporated in 1708. It was named from Killingly Manor near Pontefract, Yorkshire. Its Indian name is Aspinock.

Killingly encompasses the villages of Attawaugan, Ballouville, Dayville, East Killingly, Rogers, South Killingly and the Borough of Danielson.
