Mashpee was incorporated in 1870. It is located in southeastern Massachusetts on Cape Cod and is bordered by Sandwich on the north, Barnstable on the east, Nantucket Sound on the south, and Falmouth on the west. Its total area is 27.24 square miles, of which 23.48 square miles is land.
