Kasota, population 655, is in south central Minnesota, where Shanaska Creek meets the Minnesota River, between U.S. Highway 169 and State Highway 22. Directly north of Kasota, on the other side of the river, is the city of St. Peter. Kasota is in Le Sueur County, 12 miles south of the city of Le Sueur, and 7 miles north of Mankato.
