Fire Island is barrier beach island off the South Shore of Long Island, NY. The island is made up of several different communities, each with its own personality, visit one, or visit them all! Some great attractions are: The Fire Island Lighthouse, at the western end of the island, right at the entrance, and Sunken Forest: a nature walk in the middle of the Island. The towns are all distinct, and have wonderful restaurants, weekend house rentals and share houses, so you can choose to spend a few days or every weekend of the summer season!
