Location: 52°33'S : 169°09'E Campbell Island is of ancient volcanic origin with offliers. It is unglacierized and covers an area of 113 km2 with the highest elevation being Mt. Honey at 567 m. It was sighted and first landed upon by sealers in 1810. A scientific station was established in 1941 and has been occupied permanently since. The island is New Zealand territory.
