The Saginaw Gears played in Saginaw, Michigan as part of the United Hockey League. Midway through the 1999-2000 season, the owners moved the team to Canton, Ohio. The franchise went dormant for the 2000-2001 season, but is expected to rejoin the UHL in 2001-2002 as the Arctic Xpress.
