Belongs to a class of drugs known as alkylating agents; it slows or stops the growth of cancer cells in the body. To be more effective it is sometimes used in combination with other chemotherapy medications. Used to treat lymphomas, multiple myeloma, leukemias, mycosis fungoides, neuroblastoma, ovarian carcinoma, retinoblastoma, breast cancer, Ewing's sarcoma, bronchogenic carcinoma, small cell lung carcinoma, and other types of cancer. Also known as Cytoxan.
