Established in 1849 as Camp at Eagle Pass, later called Fort Duncan, Eagle Pass has seen its share of bandits, cattle rustlers and outlaws and has contributed its own lore as part of the "Texas Badlands". You'll want to visit Fort Duncan Park, where it all began. And just down river from here marks the famous Camino Real, for 200 years the primary north-south route between Mexico and Texas. Shoot, in the Texas Revolution, Santa Anna and his whole army entered Texas here on their way to the Battle of the Alamo. Eagle Pass of today is a thriving city with excellent education, churches, healthcare, clubs, and civic organizations. With two international bridges in operation, Eagle Pass is fast becoming a major artery between the economies and populations of the United States and Mexico for trade and tourism.
